Some items are in high demand, and we are always in need of shoppers to go to a couple of local low-priced grocery stores to buy these items. After you drop the items in the bin at the church, you email your receipt in for reimbursement. A sign-up genius is sent out every couple of months and you sign up for items which you are able to shop.
Three days a week, packers go to the church pantry and pack weekend bags. A sign-up genius is sent out every couple of months, and you sign up for a certain day to pack. The time you go to pack is flexible and instructions are included in the sign-up genius.
We usually organize a few food drives each year through the church and with our partner schools. At those times, we need volunteers to help load, unload, sort, and organize the food.
We serve 11+ schools during each school year and assign one volunteer to each school to coordinate numbers of students in need and bag delivery.
Generally, the school liaison delivers the bags to their designated school each week. However, we often need substitutes to fill in when they are unable to deliver on a given week.
Packing Events are where your group can pack individual bags for children. We supply the menu and bags, and you supply the food and packing teams! It is a great way to foster team building and to give back to the community. Please Contact Us for more information.
