More than half of the food distributed by Feed the Kids comes from the Food Bank of North Carolina. Sometimes, the Food Bank gives us products that are beyond the posted expiry.
The food is still safe to eat!!
Food manufacturers use different date codes to ensure that consumers receive their product at peak quality. Once a product is past code date, many manufacturers donate it to food banks. Food Bank staff monitor this food to ensure the quality remains good.

Please note that Feed the Kids will provide food with various expiration dates but will not exceed 6 months beyond expiry. While most foods are good well beyond the 6 month window, we understand the desire to stay reasonably close to dates.
